Why was WIN founded?
WIN was started in 1992, after the Clarence Thomas confirmation hearings, in which Anita Hill testified in front of an all male committee. WIN's founders realized they needed to raise money to elect women and change the agenda.
What is WIN?
WIN is classified by the Registry of Election Finance as a Political Action Committee; it is actually a bundling Organization similar to EMILY's list and WISH at the national level. WIN is bi-partisan and endorses women only, in state and local races (no federal or judicial races).
