Council District 34
Make checks payable to: Lisa Pote for Metro Council
Why are you running for this office? The reason I am running for Council is to lend my skills and talents in an effort to restore thoughtful dialogue, ensure that decisions are made for the “greater good” as opposed to furthering a personal agenda and to make sure that the voice of neighborhood residents are heard. I served as a Metro employee for almost 9 years, and prided myself as a “public servant.” I see the value of government service as a unique and important role to the community, and look forward to once again serving the city.
What do you expect to accomplish? I hope that by the time my tenure is through, Nashville will be thriving in many ways. I hope to that Nashville has:
- A Council that balances its many constituents: managing a well run Metro Departments, partnering with the School board and Chamber to address economic development, education and community issues and honoring the needs of neighbors by representing their needs as we govern.
- A strong economy due to a robust downtown, common sense development and businesses pulled here by a skilled workforce.
- An excellent public education system that meets the individualized needs of a diverse range of students, resulting in high student engagement and high graduation rates.
- Neighbors that report being better informed about city issues, connected to each other, feel safer and enjoy the quality of life that folks in District 34 want for themselves and for their families
